Our client SYSTEMATIC is a provider of advanced C4ISR software, empowering military commanders with unmatched command and control capability.
Their software solution supports multi-domain operations with a comprehensive Common Operating Picture, providing situational awareness, and enabling commanders to gather, analyse, and disseminate critical information in real-time.
THE CUSTOMER’S CHALLENGE
Systematic requested assistance and guidance with understanding the requirements of ASDEFCON Complex Vol 2 (modified) and provision of a comprehensive and compliant tender response to the ADF under the Land4140 program.
We were engaged by Systematic pre-tender release and we were involved with all aspects of the tender response preparation and structure, which enabled us to provide recommendations for best practice and additional support where needed.
SOLUTION
Systematic, while providing Battle Management Software (BMS) solutions to 50 countries including NATO, had no experience in delivering a project In Accordance With (IAW) Australia’s ASDEFCON requirements, including the specific Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) elements.
Having only a small local team here in Australia, Systmatiq provided bid, ILS and project management resources, which in turn allowed Systmatic to still deliver against existing contract responsibilities. Specialist key resources provided by Systematiq included Finance, Schedule and Commercial support, along with bid and tender writing and editing, and graphic design.
IMPLEMENTATION
Systematiq mobilised a project team and regular communication with key stakeholders both in Canberra and Denmark. After an initial workshop on site, all meetings and subsequent workshops were conducted remotely.
By working closely and collaboratively, our team were able to work with our client’s product experts to provide specialist inputs or review & amend existing artefacts to comply with tender requirements.
Systematiq co-ordinated regular status meetings and workshops to develop and refine our client’s solution. We also established an RFI Register to capture queries both internally and to the Commonwealth Project team.
RESULT
Our client was able to submit a compliant and effective tender response while still maintaining the ability to deliver on their business as usual.
In July 2026, Systematic’s SitaWare Headquarters system was formally selected and secured by Defence to supply the first delivery of the next-generation Battle Management System (BMS). It has also been selected by NATO as the key land operation system.
It was a valuable learning experience for our client in understanding the complexity of the ADF’s ASDEFCON requirements and what to expect in the actual delivery once you are in contract to deliver.
Our ability to mobilise a team quickly, integrate with a global client both on site and remotely, and provide flexible support with a range of subject matter experts meant that our client was able to confidently navigate the considerably complex tender process.
