INTRODUCTION

EOS Defence Systems is an Australian technology company developing advanced defence capabilities for domestic and international customers. Across multiple engagements, Systematiq has supported EOS from pre-contract strategy and tender development through mobilisation, engineering delivery, integration, verification and supportability planning. This long-term partnership shows how the right capability partner can help an Australian company turn complex opportunities into credible, deliverable outcomes.

THE CUSTOMER’S CHALLENGE

EOS was pursuing complex defence opportunities while managing finite internal capacity and demanding customer requirements. For international pursuits, including an unmanned turret opportunity for Singapore’s Defence Science and Technology Agency and a Counter-Unmanned Aerial System proposal for an overseas military customer, EOS needed additional capability to develop compliant, persuasive responses within tight timeframes.

Beyond the bid phase, EOS has also partnered with Systematiq for additional expertise across systems engineering, technical documentation and integrated logistics support translating proposed solutions into executable programs and supportable products.

This included defining the T2000 turret’s technical and support concepts for prospective overseas customers and helping lead the all-Australian C4 EDGE consortium through integration, test and demonstration.

SOLUTION

Systematiq provided an integrated capability solution matched to each stage of the contract lifecycle. Pre-contract teams reviewed tender requirements, shaped delivery and support strategies, developed compliant proposal content and built realistic labour and project estimates.

Delivery teams then provided systems engineering, project management, technical writing and integrated logistics support to convert commitments into practical plans, governed documentation and verified outcomes.

IMPLEMENTATION

Systematiq mobilised experienced specialists quickly and worked alongside EOS teams on site and remotely. For the Singapore turret tender, the team identified schedule risk around mandated design reviews and developed an alternative delivery approach aligned to product maturity, technical risk and through-life support requirements. For the C-UAS opportunity, Systematiq assembled a proposal team within a four-week response window, producing the executive overview, technical description, project plan, systems engineering approach and proposed support system.

As programs moved towards delivery, Systematiq developed technical and support documentation for the T2000 turret, including direct engagement with overseas stakeholders to understand sustainment needs. On C4 EDGE, Systematiq embedded systems engineering and integrated logistics support practitioners, scaling the team when COVID-19 restrictions increased integration risk. The team supported requirements decomposition, architecture and operational concepts, engineering governance, verification and validation, test documentation and the final demonstration to Army.

RESULT

The engagements delivered verified outcomes across both capture and execution. The Singapore tender was submitted on time and EOS was down-selected as one of two suppliers. EOS has since officially opened its new high energy laser weapon facility in Singapore, establishing a regional hub for the manufacturing, integration and testing of its high energy laser capability for regional and international customers, responding to growth opportunities in the region.

“I was really impressed with how quickly the Systematiq team came up to speed with our requirements and provided the capacity needed to develop the technical and support descriptions within the required timeframes. Their ability to engage overseas stakeholders at short notice helped ensure the support system was tailored to the customer’s needs.”

The C-UAS proposal was also down-selected as one of two submissions for detailed evaluation. For the T2000, EOS received customer-ready technical and support system documentation designed around overseas sustainment needs. On C4 EDGE, all deliverables were submitted on time, and the final demonstration was successfully completed for Government and Defence audiences, on time and on budget.

THE VALUE OF A TRUSTED CAPABILITY PARTNER

Systematiq helped EOS move confidently from opportunity to operational capability by supplying the right expertise at the right time. The value was not simply additional capacity. It was continuity across the lifecycle: stronger bids, executable delivery strategies, rapid mobilisation, disciplined engineering and support solutions designed for the end customer.

“Systematiq’s work helped ensure our response was compliant, made a compelling case for why DSTA should choose our solution and delivered a highly professional submission within the time available.”
Dr Warwick Holloway, Chief Executive Officer, EOS Defence Systems

From contract to capability, Systematiq gives defence organisations access to responsive, integrated expertise that strengthens bids, reduces delivery risk and helps turn complex commitments into sustainable capability.
