Key Projects
1. Systems Engineering Management Plan: Yarra Trams
As part of the MR4 franchise agreement with the Department of Transport, Yarra Trams was required to develop a Systems Engineering Management Plan in alignment with the ISO15288 industry standard for Systems Engineer and project life cycle.
Yarra Trams engaged Systematiq to audit the existing plan, as well as compile a series of technical guidelines which mapped the delivery of systems engineering deliverables from the requirements phase to operate and maintain as per ISO requirements.
The project successfully delivered a compliance audit, engineering competency framework and series of guidelines which enables entry level engineering staff and sub-contractors to conform to the ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288 standard.
2. Asset Management Assessment: Yarra Trams
When Yarra Trams was required to develop a Systems Engineering Management Plan that met the AS/NZS ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288:2015 Standard and Competency Guidelines, it called upon Systematiq’s consulting expertise to ensure compliance.
Systematiq conducted a technical review on the relevant Asset Condition Assessment Guidelines (ACAG) and provided recommendations on the quality and completeness of the documents. Further, Systematiq provided input into how effective the ACAGs were to achieve program objectives, and how these would be incorporated into business-as-usual activities.
Yarra Trams praised the work done by Systematiq: “They were rapid to mobilise and provided consistently high-quality outputs which enabled Yarra Trams to summarise and provide scoping estimates with efficiency and a solid information base.”
3. Reliability and Cost Modelling: Yarra Trams
Yarra Trams identified an opportunity to improve their Asset Management by establishing standard functional hierarchies for Rolling Stock, Infrastructure and Operational Control Management Systems. These required Reliability & Life Cycle Cost Modelling.
Systematiq was engaged by Yarra Trams Reliability Engineers and Maintainers to establish classification of parts into functional systems, and the level of maintenance and special equipment required to return the part into service. Using the data collected, a reliability model was developed to predict the required maintenance and impacts to service delivery.
Systems Engineering Excellence
Our systems engineers are adept at developing and implementing robust frameworks that ensure the reliability and efficiency of light rail systems. From requirements analysis to system verification and validation, we cover all critical aspects of systems engineering.
