After a year like no other, the Systematiq NSW team took the opportunity to wind down and celebrate with colleagues and clients at a recent function on the North Balcony of the Cargo Bar on Darling Harbour. Sydney didn’t disappoint, turning on a perfect evening to enjoy the views and spectacular sunset over the iconic Sydney Harbour.

It was a great opportunity for new staff to meet the team, and to say thank you to our clients for another successful year, with Systematiq able to celebrate another successful year with company and staff growth over the last 12 months. It was also a chance to unwind and chat to people face to face after the year of disruption and remote working for many of the team.

The energy levels were high and by all accounts it was a great night, enjoyed and appreciated by all who attended. The food, venue and staff contributed to a wonderful event and the harbour views were stunning.

Mandy Middlemist, our NSW Business Development Manager who joined Systematiq in August, said it was a great opportunity to meet with friends, network and meet new contacts in the industry.

“It was an honour and absolute pleasure for the team at Systematiq to host our annual Christmas client drinks in Sydney. It was for some a long awaited return to networking events, and a chance for me to get to know both staff and clients on a more personal level.”

Peter Weir, Project Management Associate with Systematiq also enjoyed the opportunity to connect with colleagues.

“It was great to catch up with some of our valued local Sydney based clients to introduce our new Sydney BD Manager Mandy Middlemist and to celebrate the end of what has been a very difficult year for many, given the COVID situation around the country. It was a chance to follow up on the projects we have been involved in together throughout the year and plan for potential future engagements, but more importantly, to take the opportunity to unwind among friends.”

Proof of its success was that guests continued to socialise long after the event was scheduled to end, forming friendships and closer working relationships.

Peter Redman, Vice President BD- Global Defence Markets with Thomas Global Systems was quick to extend his appreciation the following day: “A great night at a great location relaxing with friends over a few beers. Really looking forward to working together on other opportunities.”

Jamie Lloyd, Head of Sales and Business Development at UGL Pty Ltd, also commented on the enjoyable evening, as did Victor Ugarte, CEO Defence with Varley: “Thank you for hosting the event last Friday, I really enjoyed the company and hospitality of the team.”

Proof that face to face events certainly haven’t lost their appeal for clients and staff equally. Thank you to all our clients and to strengthening our partnerships. We’re looking forward to another great year ahead.
